Mel here, also known as Mrs. Flavin!!! I hope you remember me from the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton. I was Box Office Manageress.
You came into our lives starring in “White Christmas” the best show, I believe to have ever graced our magnificent stage, in all of my 30 years of working there.
When I first met you I didn’t know what to expect, it turned out to be one of the biggest surprises of my life at how wonderful you were not only on stage but off stage too.
The most amazing thing about you was how friendly you were with everyone, down to earth, with no airs and graces but still managed to retain a charismatic and professional air. Not many stars have that quality off stage, as I know through my experience in the world of show biz. Another thing I noticed about you, was how you wanted everyone around you to be happy, you were so considerate of others. When we had our after show parties and social gatherings you made a fuss of us all. You have given so many of us such wonderful memories of a happy time to treasure.
My late father Peter, was stage door keeper at the Mayflower for 20 years. My father loved you!!! He would often say ” Craig is different” special, not like most stars” ” he has time for people” I know that he had so many laughs with you too.
You have the best fans/friends Craig, too. They truly are amazing and will continue to support you.
